Group screenings are required for participation in all groups. We take pride in thoughtfully matching individuals with groups based on social functioning, shared interests, developmental needs, and therapeutic goals.
Groups
Connect. Communicate. Build Confidence.
Growing up can make friendships and social situations feel complicated. This group provides a supportive, welcoming space for kids ages 10–13 to learn and practice social skills while connecting with peers who may be navigating similar challenges.
Through a combination of interactive activities, games, discussion, creativity, and real-life scenarios, participants will have opportunities to practice social skills in a fun and low-pressure environment.
Skills We’ll Explore
Participants will learn and practice skills such as:
Starting and maintaining conversations
Making and keeping friendships
Reading social cues and body language
Understanding different perspectives
Joining a group or conversation
Taking turns and being an active listener
Handling disagreements and conflict
Setting healthy boundaries
Assertive communication
Understanding friendships, inclusion, and exclusion
Building confidence in social situations
Recognizing and expressing emotions
Knowing when and how to ask for help
What Makes This Group Different?
Social skills are best learned through practice, not just talking about them. Participants will have the opportunity to try new skills, make mistakes, laugh, problem-solve, and try again in a supportive environment.
The goal isn't to change who a person is or teach them to "fit in." Instead, the group focuses on helping each participant understand themself, communicate effectively, build meaningful connections, and feel more confident navigating relationships.
